When you write in, it helps a lot if you include: your device and OS version, the app version (Home → ⋯ → About), and what you were doing when it went wrong.
Getting started
How do I start a game?
Tap New game, add at least two players from the Add players pane, then tap Start game. Drag players in the upper pane to set the throwing order — or flip on Shuffle and let Klack do it.
How do I record a throw?
Tap the number of pins you knocked down (1–12). Tap Miss for a miss, Fault for a rule infringement, and Undo if you got it wrong. Klack applies the rules, handles eliminations, and moves to the next player.
Wrong number — can I fix it?
Yes. Undo steps back through the throws one at a time, as far as you need. You can even undo from the results screen if the game ended by mistake.
Can I see how far someone is from 50?
Tap any player’s score. The whole board flips to “points remaining”, and tapping again flips it back.
Do I have to play to exactly 50?
No. In game setup you can change the target score, and choose what happens on an overshoot — drop to half, reset to zero, or elimination — plus how many consecutive misses knock a player out.
Playing with friends
How do other people follow the game?
Start a game and tap the share icon. Klack shows a 6-character code and a QR code. Others enter the code under You → Join game, or scan the QR. One person keeps score; everyone else watches it update live.
Do all of us need the app?
Only the person keeping score. Anyone who wants to follow along on their own phone needs the app too.
Why does watching the live game need Klack Pro?
Relaying a live game costs us money for every throw. The person keeping score always plays free — the subscription covers the streaming to everyone else. The finished game still lands in everyone’s history for free.
Someone invited me but I got no notification.
Notifications are optional and Klack only asks for permission after you first confirm an invitation. If you declined, the invitation is still waiting for you inside the app — open Klack and you’ll see it. To enable notifications, turn them on for Klack in your device settings.
My friend kept score all summer — can I get those games?
Yes. Ask them to open your player card and share your history with you (a QR or a link). Open it, and those games become yours, attributed to you — with a Klack account they stay attributed to you on every phone you use.
Klack accounts and backup
Do I need a Klack account?
No. Everything — scoring, history, players, statistics, ratings — works with no Klack account and no internet connection. A Klack account makes your player identity durable: your name, statistics and skill rating stay yours on every phone you use, and in the games your friends record. Cloud backup of your game history is a separate, Klack Pro feature.
How do I create a Klack account?
You tab → the round account icon, then Apple, Google, or an email address and password. There is no separate sign-up step: those buttons create your Klack account if you don’t have one, and sign you in if you do. You can link several sign-in methods to the same Klack account and use whichever you like.
I got a new phone. How do I get my games back?
Your games are restored from your cloud library, which is filled by Klack Pro’s cloud backup — so this works if backup was on before you switched. Create or open your Klack account on the new phone with the same sign-in method and the library restores automatically. Restoring is always free, even if your subscription has ended. Without Klack Pro nothing was uploaded, so there is nothing to restore — share your history from the old phone instead, the same way a friend would share games with you.
I signed out — where did my games go?
Nowhere. Signing out never deletes local games. Sign back in to reconnect them to your Klack account.
How do I delete my Klack account?
You tab → account icon → Delete Klack account. This permanently removes your Klack account and everything we store for you, including your cloud library, and returns the app to a fresh anonymous state. It cannot be undone.
If you no longer have the app installed and want your Klack account deleted, email support@klack.club from the address you signed up with and we will delete it within 30 days.
Klack Pro
What do I get?
Live-watching a game on your own phone, cloud backup and cross-device history, full statistics trend graphs, the exact skill-rating change after each game, and the I.M.O. 37-point tournament rule.
What does it cost?
$0.99 per month or $8.99 per year (local pricing applies), billed through the App Store or Google Play.
What stays free?
Everything else, and it isn’t crippled: unlimited games, unlimited players, official and custom rules, full local history, current skill ratings, summary statistics, live sharing as the scorekeeper, and cloud restore.
I paid but Pro isn’t showing.
Open the paywall and tap Restore purchases. If you bought Pro before you had a Klack account, create one — the entitlement follows your Klack account, not your device. Still stuck? Email us with the App Store or Google Play account email you paid with.
How do I cancel?
Through your store, not through us:
- iOS — Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Klack → Cancel
- Android — Play Store → profile → Payments & subscriptions → Klack → Cancel
Cancelling stops the renewal; Pro stays active until the end of the paid period. Your cloud games are kept for a further 6 months, and we warn you before they’re removed. Refunds are handled by Apple and Google under their own policies.
Privacy
What data does Klack collect?
By default, none — everything stays on your phone. Online features send only what they need. There is no advertising, no analytics, and no tracking of any kind. Full detail: Privacy Policy.
Why does Klack want the camera?
Only to scan a Klack QR code, and only when you open the scanner. Nothing is recorded or transmitted, and you can always type the code in by hand instead.
